Signs of the Times

No, I'm not going to discuss recent political events.
My signs of the times are my busy day, enjoying Parker
answering to "mom!" , and trying to stay focused on important things.

Like checking if Shekinah can hold on to the swing even if her big sister gives her a good hard push.
She can!

Checking out the parking lot...and remembering to check under the van before I move it...we have one less basket ball as of tonite.  Sorry Parker!

Coffee and Dentist Visits

So today was the day of appointments- four dentist appointments
and an appointment with a very unexpected person.
When I told the hygienist at Shekinah's dentist appointment that we are not sure how her teeth will be since she has ectrodactyly. I explained that sometimes there are missing adult teeth and sometimes they just have bad teeth. She looked at me and said, "do you know that ectrodactyly is a form of ectodermal displasia." I said , "yes." and in the back of my mind was thinking, "not many people know that term."
She said, "my son has that."
We went on to a very good discussion, her son is 25 and she was the first professional that sat down and went over some of the things I had read.
Was thankful again to realize that those tears she shed and the spit she can send flying are wonderful because some ectro- kids don't have enough saliva or tears.
She sweats well...another thing for which to be thankful.
She also offered to lend an ear if needed.
Found out that Shekinah will be visiting the dentist quite a few times this summer as she has about six cavities that need filling. She did great with the cleaning, I can only hope she does as well with the rest....if the older siblings can keep their mouths SHUT!

Then off to coffee and sticky buns with friends.

While a cute princess locked my daughter in a cage!

12/365 New Look

Yes, they are real ones. She is not doing too well at leaving them on.
"I need to take them off when I eat."

In other news, we drove 25 min into Reading and found out that the Asian Grocery is closed.

Tea Party 10/11 356

We had a tea party with cousins

Grandma had a birthday, sorry it's dark

and today there are no pictures. I hosted  a ETC video seminar for local teachers. Thirty-two attended and I know we all came away with food for thought.

9/365 Beans!

Nothing beats picking up your green beans ALREADY PICKED!
well, if they had been free,I guess that would be better.
I get seconds from a family that sells their produce at the Produce Auction and have always been pleased.
Tho' pressure canning beans in 90 degree temps leaves you a bit drained.
Now I have to figure out why 2 did not seal, I never had that problem with pressure canning.

A whole day with no tantrums...I must be growing up!

Legos 8/365

The girls are into Legos...or in this case Cra z Art lite brix

but I was impressed at this one's skill in reading instructions.

Father's Day 7/365

My "office" is happening! The goal to STAY organized may or may not be attainable.

C'mon chickens a bit less crowing and a bit more laying would be nice.
Yes, I do know that the crow-ers do not lay.

And a family picture featuring the father of this tribe.
I know that some other ladies were talking about their wonderful husbands, but
I still think I have the best one!
We both have great fathers too,but no pictures to put on blogs :)

Birthdays day 6/365

Now we have a 10 y.o. and a 5 y.o.
Faith chose to go shopping and choose her own gifts.
Hope started the "tradition" last year.
It works OK, but causes jealousy from the other two, even though they had the same privilege
on their birthday, it is never quite fair.

I bought some long zipper tape, wonder if I can duplicate?

They even shared a cake! Shekinah had her birthday during VBS this year and life seemed particularly crazy that week. Poor kid!

Day#5

Almost forgot to take my picture for the day.
Ben using his negotiation skills. I love that my bigs can "talk down" my littles.

Day #4

A certain someone is enjoying two (the other was down the hatch already) gummy worms this afternoon because she kept her act together up till this afternoon.
Hopefully the rest of the day goes as well.
Yes, she has on a veil, she and Faith were playing today.

Day #3 (of a picture a day)

I'm embarrassed how much time I spent trying to get this picture.
Normally, these birds were flitting back and forth while we stood on the porch, but this morning they did not approve of me standing on the porch. Finally I hid my great scary self behind the screen door and he didn't seem to notice my hand and camera.

I can't imagine how full that bird house is or how tired the parents.
The two of them are flying non-stop most of the day bringing worms and in this case a cricket to those noisy hungry babies.

Took the children to Oregon Dairy's Farm Days, they enjoyed free samples and the fact that the weather wasn't as humid today.
Only one fit today so far, but it was a doozy! Maybe we need to go away more?

Day #2

Thankful for an easy-going grandson, some of his aunties are not so easy-going.
But watch out for the hammer!
My thoughts today are on attachment and how on earth are we supposed to know if we know what we are doing. Is what we see today, going to carry them through the next 5, 10, 40 years?

Lazy Summer Afternoon

This is a wonderful picture, after what she was like this AM. Maybe it was the weather.

Gonna try a picture a day...yeah I know it was four, but I've been short on printable material lately.
